What are piles?
What are piles?
They can be internal or exterior and come in different of
sizes.
Internal piles are the most common type and are usually
found between 2 and 4 centimetres (cm) above the anus opening. External piles
form on the anus's outside surface.
Piles can be either internal or external.
Internal Piles
Internal Piles are deep inside the rectum and not visible
from outside. They are normally painless. Often, the first sign that internal
Piles are present is rectal bleeding.
Straining can sometimes push an internal Piles so that it
protrudes through the anus. This is called a protruding or prolapsed Piles and
can be painful.
External Piles
External Piles are noticeable because they are under the
skin surrounding the anus. Because this area of the body has more sensitive
nerves, it is usually more painful. When passing a stool, squeezing them may
cause them to bleed.
